Back into the office

Yes, two days out of the office because of the snow. Monday was a "can't get in and why risk it" day - I can work from home just as effectively so why not do it? Yesterday was a "Jake's school is closed so I have to look after him" day. I've heard conflicting rumors that it's gonna a) snow again tonight and tomorrow where we are or b) snow again tonight and tomorrow but miss where we are. Who knows? But if it does come down again around here, it'll be another day or two of home working I think.

On the subject of working from home - I know I'm lucky that I can do that. I know a lot of you out there would love to be able to work from home, and I just happen to have a job (and the technology) that I can sit at home in my pants and still be as effective as if I was sat at my desk. I have phone contact via my mobile, and I use VPN software (Virtual Private Network) so that I can log on to my servers and access everything I need.
However, because being honest with my blog-reading public is what I always intend to do, I have to say I find keeping motivation the hardest part. Don't get me wrong, I get done what I need to get done, but maybe not in the same way as I would if sat at my desk.
One of the best things about working from home (I know, there're loads!) is looking out of the window in the morning and seeing traffic, bad weather, freezing cold etc. and knowing I won't be going anywhere near it. It gives you a warm, satisfying feeling...

Anyway - enough blathering on - I am in the office today so I'd better get back to the grind stone.

Soundtrack of the day: Metal! (G'n'R, Metallica etc.) Peace.

How can you say Metallica and Peace in the same breath?

I didn't. There is a full stop between Metallica and Peace. So it's "Metallica" *breath* "Peace".
Ha. Pedantic? Moi?

I would love to work from home as it would save me having to work with DICK HEADS!

Must dash as we have no lift and they expect us to carry evrything down the stairs..... not gonna happen

Anonymous - Dick heads? Really? You poor thing. However, I CAN sympathize!
