I feel dirty...

I was asked by one of my American brethren to listen to Radio 1 this morning. He said that he gets the station over there, and wanted me to listen to the broadcast on my way in, to see (quote) "...if its the same dribble."
So, I tuned in the ol' wireless this morning, and what should come dribbling out? Chris f*ckin Moyles. Oh. My. God. He was talking to his breakfast 'team' rather than playing music, and it was just like, just like, sitting at my desk at work overhearing the pointless conversations I get round here. He was waffling on about "what he did on his afternoon off" and how great Robin Hood was, and how he's only got 2% left on his Sky... oops, sorry, his "generic satellite recoding system" (his words). And, how Keith Allen phoned him asking for tickets to some music show he's doing or something, and how cool and trendy and wonderful his life is and you'll never be this cool and wonderful because you're not in 'the business'. (Well, he didn't say that, but that was the distinct impression).
Bugger me.
I thought the idea of a disc jockey was to introduce the record, play the record, introduce the next record, and maybe say "and now for the news". I listened to him for about 15 minutes, (I know, if I hated it so much, why not switch it off? I was doing research people, for a friend), and he didn't play one song. Utter shite. So my tip for you this morning? Don't listen to Radio 1 in the mornings. Play a CD instead.

This afternoon, my balls are going to be blown hither and yon. I'm playing golf and it's breezy out.

Soundtrack of the day: "North At It's Heights" by MC Tunes... "The only rhyme that bitesAAH!"

Update: Am I allowed to get annoyed at people who comment under Anonymous? Or is that too 'police-state', asking people to identify themselves?

Tell your American buddies to listen to Terry Wogan.

I agree about Chris Moyles, can't stand that zoo format... I never liked it even when I was young.

However, Chris Evans used to be annoying when he was first on the radio but now I love his drive time show on R2.

You can't get annoyed if people post as anonymous. Do comments matter more if you know who they are from?

Its not so much they matter more if I know who they're from - it's more I know if they are new people commenting, or the same ones.

bet this comment annoys the fuck out of you then!!!

Annoys the fuck out of me? Hardly... but I was surprised at how long it took someone to post something like that as Anon.

I agree though that Chris Moyles is a c0ck. Only northerners would find him funny.

I agree Chris Moyles is one of the worst DJ's on the Radio by far. I think the reason his shows are full of chat is for all his Podcast listeners ££££ in the bank. If he played music he would only get about 10 minutes talk time due to music copyrights on Podcasts.

The trouble with DJ's is that most of them have ego's the size of a small country. A bit like Marmite - you either love 'em or hate 'em...there's no real inbetween.

Chris Evans I quite liked on TFI and the Radio 1 breakfast show. I cannot stand Chris Moyles, the guy just isn't funny...Leeds-supporting twonk.

My personal favourite was Christian O'Connell when he was on X-fm. Now I don't listen to the radio in the mornings though, I prefer music.
